Quintin V. Kneen
President and Chief Executive Officer
Quintin V. Kneen was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in June 2013. Mr. Kneen joined GulfMark in June 2008 as the Vice President - Finance and was named Senior Vice President - Finance and Administration in December 2008. He was subsequently appointed as the Company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in June 2009 where he worked until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he was Vice President-Finance & Investor Relations for Grant Prideco, Inc., serving in executive finance positions at Grant Prideco since June 2003. Prior to joining Grant Prideco, Mr. Kneen held executive finance positions at Azurix Corp. and was an Audit Manager with the Houston office of Price Waterhouse LLP. He holds an M.B.A. from Rice University and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University, and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst.
James (Jay) M. Mitchell
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
James (Jay) M. Mitchell was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company in June 2013. His expertise includes strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, risk management and investor relations. His most recent experience was as CEO of the privately held Flex Energy. Previously, Mr. Mitchell worked as Senior Vice President & CFO of T-3 Energy Services, a publicly traded company, until its successful sale in 2011. He earned a MPA in Taxation from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.B.A. in Accounting from Georgia State University.
David E. Darling
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer
David E. Darling was named our Vice President – Human Resources in November 2008 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in the same function in June 2012. Mr. Darling has over 23 years of human resource experience. He came to GulfMark through our acquisition of Rigdon Marine, where he was employed as Human Resource Director since 2007. Prior to joining Rigdon Marine, Mr. Darling served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources for a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company which he joined in 2000. Additionally, Mr. Darling has 15 years of experience in the offshore vessel industry as Vessel Master, Operations Manager and Human Resources Manager with Zapata Gulf Marine and Tidewater, Inc.
Mr. Darling earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Brenau University and his Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology.
Samuel (Sam) R. Rubio
Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
Samuel R. Rubio was named our Vice President – Controller and Chief Accounting Officer in December 2008 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in the same function in June 2012. Mr. Rubio joined GulfMark in 2005 as the Assistant Controller and was subsequently promoted to Controller in 2007. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sul Ross State University and is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, Mr. Rubio has over 25 years of experience in accounting at both operating division and corporate levels as well as the management of accounting organizations.
Lee R. Johnson
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Lee Johnson has been the Chief Information Officer for GulfMark since 2009. He has over 25 years of experience in applying technical solutions and leading information technology organizations. Previously, Mr. Johnson was with Tatum LLC as a partner and practice leader and also served in CIO leadership positions where he led the technology and product development of next-generation hardware and software technologies. Mr. Johnson has a B.S. degree from the Pennsylvania State University and attended the Executive Masters Program in Computer Science and Software Engineering at Southern Methodist University.
Vice President - Americas
Andrew P. Bruzdzinski was hired as the Vice President – Americas in June 2015. Mr. Bruzdzinski has over 25 years of marine operations experience. Prior to joining GulfMark, Mr. Bruzdzinski served 9 years as a United States Coast Guard Officer. After leaving the Coast Guard he worked for 14 years with Hornbeck Offshore in various management roles with QHSE, Business Development and Operations including his last position as Vice President and General Manager of OSV Operations. Mr. Bruzdzinski also worked for GIS Oilfield Contractors as the QMS Director and Lead Auditor. Mr. Bruzdzinski graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1990 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management and completed his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans in 1997.
Ewan M. Geddes
Managing Director, UK and SEA
Mr. Geddes has over 20 years' of experience in the offshore support vessel sector. Since joining GulfMark in 1993 he has held finance and commercial management roles bringing him close to the operational front of the business. After serving for 7 years as General Manager – Commercial he was promoted to Managing Director of the UK fleet in Jan 2014. Having initiated his career in banking, Mr Geddes completed both Diploma level and Associate qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
Managing Director, Norway
Mr. Førland has over 25 years of experience in the Offshore support vessel sector. Since joining GulfMark in 1990, he has held various management roles in operations, QHSE, finance and commercial. He has served as Managing Director for the fleet operating out of Norway since September 2007. He holds an Master of Business and Marketing from Oslo Business School.

Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Raspino’s career has spanned almost 40 years in the energy industry most recently as President and CEO and Director of Pride International until the company merged with Ensco plc. Pride was one of the world’s largest oil and gas drilling and service companies conducting business in over 30 countries with 14,000 employees representing over 50 nationalities. He began his career spending 20 years in the international oil and gas exploration and production business with the Louisiana Land & Exploration Company, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Office of the Chairman. Following the merger of LLE into Burlington Resources, Mr. Raspino served as Vice President of Finance with Halliburton, a Fortune 100 company, and then Chief Financial Officer of Grant Prideco, the world’s largest manufacturer of premium drill pipe. He began his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young serving clients in the Exploration and Production and Energy Services industries.
Since leaving Pride International, Mr. Raspino has been an active board member serving on such boards as the Dresser Rand Corporation and Chesapeake Energy Corporation, where he served as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He currently serves on the board of directors of Forum Energy Technologies where he serves on the Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committee.
Mr. Raspino earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans and his MBA from Loyola University.
Mr. DiPiero is the President and Founder of Newport Capital Group, a national investment advisory firm. With over twenty years of experience in the petroleum industry in shipping and marketing, Mr. DiPiero is the former President of Dove Terminals, a bulk petroleum storage company that was sold to Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. He is also the former President of Delphi Petroleum Bunkering Division, where he was responsible for the supply and marketing of ship fuels in the U.S. representing Exxon. He previously served as the President of the Marketing Division of Delphi Petroleum, a global energy trading firm specializing in the distribution of physical petroleum. Mr. DiPiero previously served on the board of Delphi Petroleum, Inc. and is currently a board member of Zipz, Inc., and a board member of FGI Finance. He is the former Chairman of the Meridian Health System Foundation board and former Chairman of the Board for the Riverview Medical Center Foundation. He currently serves as a Trustee of Drexel University. Mr. DiPiero earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.
Mr. Traub has served as a Managing Partner of Raging Capital Management, a diversified investment firm since December 2015. Mr. Traub currently serves on the boards of directors of the following public companies in the Raging Capital portfolio: (i) as Chairman of the Board of DSP Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG), a leading supplier of wireless chipset solutions for converged communications, (ii) Intermolecular, Inc.
(NASDAQ: IMI), an innovator in materials sciences and (iii) IDW Media Holdings, Inc. (OTC: IDWM), a diversified media company.
He previously served on the boards of directors of (i) Phoenix Technologies, Inc., a supplier of the basic input output system for the personal computer industry, from 2009 until the company was sold in 2010, (ii) iPass, Inc., a provider of mobility services for Enterprises and Carriers, from 2009 to 2013, (iii) MIPS Technologies, Inc., a provider of industry standard processor architectures and cores, from 2011 until the company was sold in 2013, (iv) Xyratex Limited, a leading supplier of data storage technologies, from 2013 until the company was sold in 2014, (v) Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation, a supplier of integrated circuit solutions for next-generation carrier and enterprise networks, from 2013 until the company was sold in 2015, (vi) Athersys, Inc., a biotechnology company engaged in the discovery and development of therapeutic product candidates from 2012 to 2016, (vii) A. M. Castle & Co., a specialty metals distribution company from 2014 to 2016 and (viii) as Chairman of the Board of MRV Communications, Inc., a supplier of communication networking equipment from 2011 until the company was sold in 2017. He also served as the Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey chapter of the Young Presidents Organization in 2010 and 2011 and on the board of the New Jersey chapter of the World Presidents Organization since 2012. From 2009 through 2015, Mr. Traub was President and Chief Executive Officer of Ethos Management LLC. From 1999 until its acquisition by JDS Uniphase Corp. (“JDSU”) in 2008, Mr. Traub served as President and Chief Executive Officer of American Bank Note Holographics, Inc. (“ABNH”), a leading global supplier of optical security devices for the protection of documents and products against counterfeiting. Following the sale of ABNH, he served as Vice President of JDSU, a global leader in optical technologies and telecommunications.
In 1994, Mr. Traub co-founded Voxware, Inc., a pioneer in voice over Internet protocol communication technologies, and served as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer through 1998. From 1988 to 1994, he served as Vice President of Trans-Resources, Inc., a multi-national holding company and investment manager. Mr. Traub received a BA from Emory College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Krishna Shivram has over 29 years of experience spread across financial and management positions in the oil and gas industry in the United States, Middle East, Europe and India. He is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Sentinel Energy Services Inc (Nasdaq: STNLU) , a special purpose acquisition company that had a successful IPO in November 2017.
Previously, Mr. Shivram was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Weatherford International PLC (NYSE: WFT) from November 2016 to March 2017. Prior to being promoted to CEO, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Weatherford International PLC from November 2013 to November 2016. During his tenure, he raised $1.5 billion of new capital and divested businesses to raise $1.8 billion of proceeds.
Mr. Shivram’s career also includes a 25-year tenure from February 1988 to October 2013 at Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB), holding positions such as Vice President and Treasurer, Controller and Head of M&A. During his tenure, he was involved in acquisitions totaling more than $10 billion as well as divestitures of over $2 billion.
Up until the time he joined Schlumberger in 1988, Mr. Shivram held positions with public accounting firms Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Shivram sits on the Board of Directors of Ranger Energy Services (NYSE: RNGR) and is the Audit Chair.
Mr. Shivram is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Mumbai University and currently resides in Houston with his wife and two children.
Mr. McCarty is a partner of Q Investments and has been with Q since 2002. Prior to his current position as manager of the venture capital, private equity, and distressed investment groups, he was a portfolio manager. Before joining Q Investments, Mr. McCarty was a captain in the United States Army. Mr. McCarty serves as a Director of Vantage Drilling Company and previously served as an Independent Director of Travelport Limited and Exide Technologies. Mr. McCarty graduated with a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was a Distinguished Cadet and recipient of the General Lee Donne Olvey Award, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Davis is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PIRINATE Consulting Group, LLC a firm he founded in 1999. In this capacity, Mr. Davis has managed numerous debtor and creditor side pre-and post-restructuring assignments in several industries including the Oil and Gas Sector. As a result of his post-restructuring work, Mr. Davis has gained significant governance experience in serving on numerous public
company boards including Texas American Resources, Trident, Throne Petroleum, Magnum Hunter, Hercules Offshore, Stallion Oilfield Services, Warren resources, Coho Energy and PetroRig. He previously practiced Law as a Partner/Shareholder & Head of the Corporate & Securities Practice for Holmes, Millard & Duncan, P.C. in Dallas, Texas; as Partner at Arter & Hadden in Dallas, Texas, and as an Associate at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld in Dallas. In these roles, Mr. Davis specialized in corporate and securities, oil and gas and restructuring law and was involved in numerous public and private debt and equity securities offerings, debt restructurings and
domestic and international acquisitions. He also previously served as a Counsel to the Exxon Corporation.
Mr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics, a Master’s Degree in International Affairs, and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University. He continues to serve Columbia College as a Member of the Board of Visitors.
